Katalyst is a student-led esports and creative technology society at JSS University. It is built as a platform for students interested in gaming, game development, content creation, and digital innovation. The society aims to bridge the lack of a proper gaming and creative ecosystem by providing direction, structure, and opportunities for students. It focuses on establishing gaming not just as entertainment, but as a skill, a discipline, and a potential career path.

The aim of Katalyst is to build a strong and active ecosystem where students can:
Participate in esports and competitive gaming
Explore game development and creative fields
Collaborate with like-minded individuals
Gain exposure to real-world opportunities in gaming and technology
Katalyst has marked several milestones in building its ecosystem:
Foundational Success :Successfully conducted its first major esports event, a BGMI Solo Tournament, on JSS University Day, which saw participation from 100+ players.
Scope Expansion :Expanded its focus beyond esports into technical education by organizing structured workshops on game development, including the Godot Game Development Workshop and the Unity Game Development Workshop.
Community Growth :Strengthened its internal structure and community through the Katalyst Orientation Programme 2025 and a successful Recruitment Drive, onboarding new talent in gaming, animation, and event management.
